Busy July

Well, my July seems like it has been very busy, though I feel quite relaxed.  A few days away at Keuka Lake to celebrate my birthday  (yep, I’m a July 4th baby, a real firecracker!).  I celebrated with a lovely pontoon boat cruise on Keuka Lake with Keuka Waterports — I’ve done two pontoon cruises with them and both were great!  We followed the boat ride with a delicious dinner lakeside at Snug Harbor — if you have not been there since they reopened this spring, you should definitely go try it out!

Today I enjoyed a photo shoot with my Meetup group (Rochester Nature Photography Meetup) at Tinker Nature Park in Henrietta, NY.  It is a wonderful park with several nature trails, a nature center, fairy houses along one trail, beautiful gardens ….  I have driven by this park many times but never stopped before.  I will definitely go back!  Here are a couple of pictures from there today.

Last week, I entered three photos in the Wayne County Council for the Arts “Art Trough the Lens Photo Show”, which is on display through July 28.  I was notified that one of my photos was a winner, but I don’t know which one yet, or exactly what I won.  I will find out at the Artists Reception next Saturday.  This is very exciting for me, as one of my goals for the year was to enter some contests beyond the county fair, and try to place in some of them.  I am delighted to win something in my first show with the council, and plan to enter additional shows with them throughout the year.   My next effort is the New York State Fair, and a couple of online contests for a magazine and a calendar.

Finally, I have a new creative endeavor coming up, something other than photography, that I am hoping will be just as much fun.  No details yet, but hopefully I can post some photos soon of my creative efforts …..

Until next time ….
